Description
This special tea, native to China's Yunnan region, differs from other teas in that, after wilting and rolling, it is fermented by aging in oak barrels without being left to oxidize. This traditional method gives the tea a characteristic and profound identity.
These processes bring out the smoky and earthy flavors in the tea. Pu-erh tea has a stronger aroma and a more intense taste compared to black teas. Because it is a fermented tea, it is also notable for its probiotic and prebiotic properties.

Important Note
Black tea is highly resistant to heat because it is a fully oxidized type of tea. However, boiling it, holding it over boiling water, or brewing it for longer than necessary causes excessive tannins in the leaves to leach into the water, reducing the quality of the brew.
